Unsync
unsync — philosophy

Privacy isn't a feature. It's the shape we start from.

Every product we build begins with the same constraint: we shouldn't be able to see your data, even if we wanted to. No central store to breach, subpoena, or sell — just your device and the other person's, talking directly.

Mission and vision

MISSION

Build communication tools where privacy is the default we ship, not a setting buried three menus deep.

VISION

A future where "we don't have your data" is something you can verify, not a line in a privacy policy you have to take on trust.

We can't hand over what we never had.
— the constraint every Unsync product is built around

How it's designed

Peer-to-peer

ROUTING

Messages travel directly between devices whenever a direct path exists. There's no middle hop where content sits and waits.

On-device encryption

ENCRYPTION

Content is encrypted before it leaves your device. What passes through any shared infrastructure is already unreadable to us.

Zero data retention

STORAGE

We don't keep a copy of your conversations. Nothing sits on a server waiting to be requested, leaked, or mined.

Minimal infrastructure

INFRASTRUCTURE

We run only what's needed to help two devices find each other. Less infrastructure means less that can be compromised or compelled.

No ads, no tracking

BUSINESS MODEL

Nothing here is funded by watching what you do inside it. If it isn't paid for directly, it isn't paid for by your data.

Open source

VERIFICATION

Code is public so every claim above can be checked line by line, not just trusted because we said so.
